Puppies expected 10/2024 Pregnancy Confirmed!
We are always looking for enthusiastic guardian homes for upcoming puppies. These are homes that are local and semi local that are willing to take on a show prospect puppy on a co ownership arrangement. These puppies generally have a reduced adoption fee, dependent on the terms. Guardian homes are the permanent living home/family for the dog, however Cimar retains breeding rights and will show the dog and finish its championship. This typically means when the puppy is old enough it would go to a few shows to obtain its championship. This can mean the dog is away once a month for a couple days until finished or we show the dog for a couple consecutive weeks to get the title done all at once. Much is dependent on the readiness of the dog and how far away you live. We cover the costs of entry fees and show related expenses. We are always happy to have guardian homes come to the shows and watch and learn with their puppy/dog and to get involved in the sport. When the puppy/dog is of age we will need the pup to perform and complete health testing to determine the dogs eligibility for breeding. This can be done in one day or a couple of days. Health testing cost are covered by cimar.... Then, if the dog is determined at this point to be of breeding potential we reserve the right to use said males as a stud prospect for our own females and have said dogs semen collected and stored. For females it means the dog would be bred to a male of our choosing and a litter whelped and raised here at cimar. Typically in these situations we do offer a puppy to the guardian family. Females in guardian homes are not bred more than once (unless under express consent of both parties) unless the litter yields less than 3 puppies. All costs associated with breeding is covered by Cimar. When it is determined that the dog can be spayed/neutered, then we relinquish co ownership and the dog resides permanently with the guardian home. Guardian homes are so helpful in us being able to continue to preserve our beloved breed and produce quality dogs without us having to have dogs in kennels. It is a mutual working relationship with benefits to both parties and the dog. We always hope that guardians will get involved but as little or as much is always welcome. If you think you or your family might be interested please note this on your application and we can discuss the options and i can provide you with a typical written agreement to review.
